Environment & Safety at NuStar
The safety of NuStar’s employees, contract employees, customers, neighbours and the environment is NuStar’s highest priority and a core business value. NuStar is committed to achieving the highest standards of safety and environmental excellence throughout their organisation. NuStar believes it is every employee’s responsibility to conduct business in accordance with this commitment, and their management’s responsibility to provide the resources, equipment, training, and tools to ensure continued improvement.
As NuStar continues to grow, safety remains their highest priority. NuStar’s safety program will continue to evolve and improve as best safety practices are shared among all of their facilities, with the constant goal of achieving safe, accident-free facilities throughout their system.
NuStar’s use of ISNetworld
NuStar became a member of ISNetworld in June 2002. In July 2010, NuStar expanded its relationship with ISNetworld to include their terminals in the United Kingdom. NuStar currently has six terminal locations in the United Kingdom - Eastham, Runcorn, Grays, Clydebank, Grangemouth, and Belfast – and continues to grow.
NuStar uses ISNetworld to evaluate health, safety and procurement information as a part of its contractor management process. NuStar also manages its contractor on-boarding process through ISNetworld.
NuStar’s ISNetworld requirements in the United Kingdom include:
- Company Profile
- Management Systems Questionnaire (MSQ)
- Review and Verification Services (RAVS) for contractor’s safety programmes
- Insurance Certificates
NuStar’s commitment to mitigating risk is supported at the highest levels. As noted by Curt Anastasio, NuStar Energy L.P. President and CEO, “Our most important measure of success has always been and will always be the SAFETY of our operations.” He continued, “But our commitment to safety doesn’t stop with our employees - we want everybody working with us to be safe... We value the relationships we have with all of our business partners, and through this effort we are working to ensure that together we are maintaining best safety practices and improving safety performance.”
