Health and Safety
Since incorporating in 2006, Platoon has made significant updates and improvements to their safety management system. In the past few years, they have seen their safety manual grow double in size. Platoon recognized that they needed to make changes to ensure that they are up to date with industry and provincial safety standards. They further their dedication to safety by presenting to contractors on behalf of one of their Owner Clients, communicating the benefits of using ISNetworld as a health and safety information database.

Platoon’s highly endorsed apprenticeship program ensures that Owner Clients are provided with journeymen who are highly qualified, and are able to complete each project with safety excellence that exceeds expectations. With indoor and outdoor facilities for their pressure testing equipment, the employees at Platoon are able to get a hands-on experience and perspective on safety, even before they apply their expertise to the actual project at hand. This also allows them to significantly reduce the cost to Owner Clients by building or constructing before going on site.
Platoon Oilfield Construction, Ltd.’s Use of ISNetworld
Platoon Oilfield Construction, Ltd. has utilized ISNetworld as their primary health and safety information database for the past two years. Since joining ISNetworld, Platoon has had the opportunity to present to other contractors about their use of ISNetworld. They have taken advantage of opportunities to gain industry exposure by attending Users Group Meetings hosted by various Owner Clients.
When incorporating in 2006 and establishing themselves as a new company, Platoon used ISNetworld as a partner in making sure that they were continually up-to-date with industry and provincial safety standards:

ISNetworld’s Review and Verification Services (RAVS) allows Platoon to organize their safety program information in one central location, and streamline the conformance process by providing the information to multiple Owner Clients at one time. Experienced health and safety professionals perform extensive reviews of required safety programs, enabling Platoon to recognize and address any areas of needed improvement. Platoon credits ISNetworld in helping them to stay current with Canadian OH&S regulations and recognizing gaps in their safety programs. They have also found ISNetworld’s Personnel section to be extremely helpful in maintaining all employee information in a central location.
