Formed in 1970, Quinn Contracting Ltd’s western Canada services focus on post construction activities including Commissioning, Plant Maintenance, Plant Turnarounds and Projects within existing plant facilities.

Quinn Contracting provides the expertise to assist with plant expansions, modifications or de-bottlenecking operations. Services provided within the conventional oil & gas, petrochemical, heavy oil (SAGD) and fertilized sectors include construction, supervision and inspection, tradesmen, equipment, quality control, procurement and expediting, start-up, and operational support.

With an average of 850 full time employees and seasonal peaks approaching 2000, Quinn Contracting provides mechanical maintenance services to the majority of Energy Downstream companies in Western Canada.

Safety Training & Program Development


Safety is a Quinn value both on and off the job.  Quinn employees take full advantage of the many practices, procedures and incentives as they work within the highly successful “Zero Injury Strategy”. From a business perspective, both Owner Clients and Quinn Contracting Ltd benefit from the commitment of employees working safely.

Consistent application of the safety program elements is the key to reducing and eliminating incidents and injuries. To ensure Quinn employees are executing every task safely and efficiently, Quinn has developed a tool called SEVS; the Safe Execution Value Stream. Various “hold-points” identified in this tool stop tasks from proceeding until specific conditions are met. The end result of utilizing this system is that potential hazards are identified and then eliminated or controlled prior to crews beginning work. A key benefit of the Safe Execution Value Stream is that redundant or inefficient program elements are removed resulting in increased productivity and tool time.

 As evidence of their success, Quinn Contracting’s Worker Compensation premium rate and claims performance continue to be significantly lower than the industry average.
