Walter Cochran first established the company in 1952 in Spokane, Washington. They have since then expanded and have three locations: Seattle, Washington; Spokane Valley, Washington; and Portland, Oregon.
A family-owned business founded on the principles of integrity, innovation and quality, Cochran Inc. is a Northwest tradition. A full-service company, they offer expertise in electrical design, construction and service, voice and data structured cabling systems, and security systems.

Cochran, Inc. is one of the few companies that is certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the ASTRA Women's Business Alliance has certified Cochran, Inc as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE). This is another result of the success Cochran, Inc. has had over the years.
An Emphasis on Safety
The safe completion of each project is the primary goal of Cochran, Inc. This is evident when you consider their 2008 Interstate Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of .5720. The most important element of Cochran, Inc’s safety program is people. With their very thorough, pro-active Safety Compliance Program, every employee at Cochran, Inc prides themselves on making every job site an injury free workplace.
Their safety department conducts trainings, develops site specific safety plans, conducts site inspections, and ensures compliance within each extensive safety program throughout the company. Specialized training is provided for unique hazards such as confined space, fall protection, respiratory protection, and a number of other job specific hazards.
Cochran Inc’s focus on safety and their ability to keep their safety program compliant with OSHA’s requirements has allowed them to use ISNetworld as a marketing tool. They have formed relationships with companies they previously would not have access to, and increased their exposure within the oil and gas industry, which is how they began their business relationship with Conoco Phillips Pipeline. Regardless of the industry, Cochran, Inc always has safety as a top priority.

Cochran, Inc’s Use of ISNetworld
Cochran, Inc became a member of ISNetworld
in 2003. Since that time, they have reported
and managed all of their health and safety
information in one central location, as well as
utilized the other value-added tools that
ISNetworld provides.
ISNetworld’s Management System Questionnaire (MSQ) allows Cochran, Inc to share their health and safety information with numerous Owner Clients. It also ensures that Cochran, Inc is making sure their policies are meeting their Owner Client’s goals.
Cochran, Inc also utilizes ISNetworld’s Operator Qualification (OQ) tool, in which they can manage and report their OQ qualifications to their Owner Clients. Reports can be automatically submitted to the Owner Client, highlighting each employee and which tasks they are qualified to perform. This results in less confusion on-site and ensures that the task is performed by a qualified individual.
The diverse, user-friendly functionalities of ISNetworld make staying in compliance with their Owner Clients’ HSE requirements a more streamlined process for Cochran, Inc.
