Elkhorn is a merit shop, single-source General Contractor with over 20 years of experience in the construction and maintenance of oil, natural gas, petrochemical facilities, and pipelines as well as fossil fuel power/steam plants and mining operations. Some examples of facilities built and/or maintained by Elkhorn include:

Elkhorn involvement ranges from turnkey construction to responsibility for a particular phase of a construction or maintenance project. They combine safe and economical management of all phases of construction projects, additions, relocations, retrofits, turnarounds, maintenance, and custom fabrication, as well as fast-track construction projects. Elkhorn also provides contract services, such as safety training and site safety supervision, constructability consulting, purchasing, cost control, estimating, and project management. Their projects have ranged in cost from tens of thousands of dollars to several million dollars.

Elkhorn enjoys a reputation of delivering accident free projects of the highest quality, on schedule, and within budget (often significantly under budget). As a result, the greatest percentage of their business is from repeat customers.

Elkhorn Construction utilizes a behavior based safety and health process, specific to each job and its particular hazards. Their ultimate goal is to maintain a work environment that is free of accidents and injuries, as well as drugs and alcohol. Elkhorn is dedicated to continuous improvement and extends this commitment to all subcontractors and other employers and their employees who perform work for or on behalf of Elkhorn.

Elkhorn is active in a full-time Safety and Health Program with personnel committed to coordinating their efforts in productivity with safety and compliance to client and regulatory requirements.

Accordingly, they are committed to achieving and sustaining "Zero Accidents" performance through continuous improvement practices. The achievement of an accident free work environment requires the commitment of management, active involvement of employees, and partnering with customers dedicated to this cause. It is the intent of Elkhorn to provide each employee with a work environment free of recognized or potential hazards, involve employees in the safety and health process, and provide the training and supervision necessary for employees to perform their work in a safe and healthful manner.

Elkhorn Construction’s Use of ISNetworld

Since 2002, Elkhorn Construction has utilized ISNetworld to report their employees’ health and safety information including their Operator Qualifications. Their individual OQ records are verified from third party data providers, archived in the ISNetworld system, and reported to Elkhorn’s Owner Clients through ISNetworld.

In addition to maintaining their employees’ OQ records in ISNetworld, Elkhorn also utilizes ISNetworld’s Training Manager tool. With Training Manager, they are able to effectively track, monitor and manage their complete employee in-house training program. Elkhorn currently manages 45 courses for more than 1300 employees through ISNetworld’s Training Manager. “Our business requires us to move employees to different service areas and tracking the in house training was a nightmare. With the use of ISNetworld’s Training Manager, we have reduced our time spent in tracking our training. With the quality of reports Training Manager provides, we can provide detailed data to our supervisors and business partners. Training manager has freed up our safety professionals’ time to do training not tracking. The initial effort of setting up the system pays off in the future.
