ISNetworld is Now Accessible from Your Smartphone
In 2012, the number of active smartphone users topped one billion. Strategy Analytics estimates that another billion will switch to smartphones by 2015. In order to keep up with this growing trend, ISN is releasing ISNetworld Mobile.
Contractors and Owner Clients are now able to access a “read only” version of their ISNetworld account from their smartphone anytime, anyplace. ISNetworld Mobile does not require additional downloads or installation. When launching ISNetworld from a mobile device, the site recognizes the type of device in use and directs the user to the full or mobile site based on the device in use. Standard data rates will apply depending on the mobile device plan.
Access to the mobile site is still restricted by login access and user permissions to maintain your company’s security. All subscription types have access to ISNetworld Messages and the Bulletin Board. When downloading attachments from the Bulletin Board, the user will receive a warning if the attachment exceeds 5MB to avoid incurring additional data charges.
ISN Contractor subscribers have the ability to view their company information, digital employee ID cards, their most current employee OQ and TQ reports and Owner Client requirements and grades from their smartphone. ISN Owner Client and Contractor/Operator subscribers are able to search for contractors and view their Dashboard, Audit Library, latest OQ and TQ records, Evaluation Reports and contractors’ overall QuickCheck™ status.
ISNetworld Mobile is a live site and refreshes as updates are made within ISNetworld. Contact numbers, email addresses and mailing and physical addresses are also dynamic. By clicking on the phone number or address, users will be directed to their mobile device’s email, phone or map application. In addition, the ISNetworld Mobile digital employee ID card displays a barcode that Owner Clients can scan to verify contractor training and drug and alcohol information.
ISN is proud to bring ISNetworld Mobile to its members, joining a multitude of other mobile technologies by leading industry groups that have been published in recent years. The Occupational and Safety Administration (OSHA), for example, launched a Heat Safety Tool application in 2011 that monitors the heat index at work sites in order to prevent heat-related illnesses. The American Red Cross has applications to monitor tornado, hurricane, earthquake and wildfire conditions. The US Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) offers an Emergency Response Guidebook accessible from mobile devices for emergency responders to reference when managing hazardous material incidents. To learn more about health and safety information available via your smartphone or tablet, visit Safety Awakenings to see their “Safety App of the Week”.
Stay tuned for upcoming developments to ISNetworld Mobile. Future enhancements will include a customizable homepage and the ability for Owner Clients to perform field audits through the Audit Library tool.
